| IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED In recent days the Second Appellate District Court of Los Angeles handed down a very bad decision regarding a case involving a homeschool family. Bottom line: homeschooling is illegal in California unless a parent is a certified teacher. This legal opinion has the potential to have profound ramifications across the nation, not just in California. You need to understand this case and the potential threat it poses for all homeschooling families. For more information, go to www.hslda.org/hs/state/ca/200803030.asp. While you are on the HSLDA site you can also sign a petition appealing to the California Supreme Court to depublish this opinion and limit its findings. I urge you to act immediately, this event poses one the greatest threats to homeschooling that has occurred in many years.
