Testing

Welcome to the Circle Christian School testing site. Testing is provided by Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). NWEA has been serving schools and families for over 30 years with a computerized adaptive testing. The tests will be administered online. The tests are called Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). Detailed results will be available at the end of the testing window in late June. The assessment itself is unique in that it adapts to the student's ability, accurately measuring what a child knows and needs to learn. In addition, MAP will measure academic growth over time, independent of grade level or age.

With the largest norm reference group in the nation, NWEA reports highly accurate norm-referenced scores. MAP results, however, go beyond simply ranking student achievement or indicating grade level performance. Educators use MAP test scores to identify the skills and concepts a student knows and what they need to learn next in order to keep growing, irrespective of grade level. With accurate, timely information on an individual student's needs, educators and parents can target instruction so that every student is learning and growing.

MAP tests will be administered in three areas:

  • Reading
  • Language Usage
  • Mathematics

The "Goals" tests, which are administered by Circle, typically take about one hour each but because the test is untimed, students may take longer. Students should not be rushed but should be encouraged to move through the test in a timely manner.  Students are required to answer every question, and they cannot go back once they submit an answer.

Circle will provide each family with a username and password via e-mail as well as all necessary documentation to take the test. Be sure to carefully read all documents before proceeding.
