Circle has created new environments for families to engage in ways to learn, to live, and to love! We invite you to take a closer look at our Encounter Labs for 2009-10.

These NEW activities offer Circle families and the community:

• Low cost for families
• Long-term educational value

Discovery Labs (Grades K-6)

The vision of Discovery Labs is to enhance the home education journey through a cooperative experience in a family learning environment. By providing educational opportunities for students and parents through a hands-on unit study approach using great literature as the foundation, Discovery Labs are a new way to enrich family learning.

This parent participation activity offers moms and students new ways to enhance family learning. Open to students K–5 grade, this activity has a four-week commitment with a Reading week, a Learning Lab week, a Field Lab week and a Presentation Lab week. Parents must accompany their students as well as participate in the learning process.

Strengths Labs (Grades 7-12)

If the scripture in Psalm 139 is true that God created our inmost being, that we were knit together in our mother’s womb, and that we were fearfully and wonderfully made; then we have the opportunity to discover and live the purposeful life God planned for us.

This activity will help your family discover, develop, use, and celebrate who God made each member to be! It will help students and parents unpack the personal strengths package God placed within you! Using a variety of inventories and self-discovery tools, participants will build a personal strengths/theme portfolio that will identify and articulate emerging patterns.

Writing Basics Labs (Grades 7-12)

This brand new series of activities is designed to help students improving their basic writing skills. Do you have a student who would rather do math or science homework than write something? Does your child love to write but needs structure to express creativity? Does the writing process intimidate your student? Good news, there is an answer!

Hands On Science Labs (Grades K-8)

Hands on learning has a direct connection to the real world and to the study of real science. When students see a need for what they are learning, they become excited about the information before them especially with the subject of science. As we take this need for learning and point it back to the greatest scientist of all, God - the creator of our world, students not only explore science but gain a deeper understanding of God’s hand in all things - including science!
