Testing FAQs

When is testing offered?

Because of the number of students that are tested each year, it is necessary to rent a school facility. CCS will be using Lake Highland's campus this year. CCS families are grouped according to regions and those students are tested on two consecutive days.

Testing for the 2007-08 school year will be held the week of March 17 - 21, 2008.

Testing is available for students who are not enrolled in CCS. For more information, contact Mary Jane Jenkins at the CCS office, 407 740-8877.

Do you offer any other tests during that week?
An optional abilities test is offered school wide on the Wednesday of testing week. The cost of the Otis Lennon Ability test is $20.00 per student for CCS students and $30.00 for non enrolled students.
Would you recommend taking the abilities test?

Yes. This test is very beneficial in helping parents see where their student is functioning. The abilities test will show if the achievement of the student is consistent with his or her natural abilities.

Do you offer the achievement test to students not enrolled with Circle?
Yes. You must contact Mary Jane Jenkins at the CCS office, 407-740-8877, and request a registration form. CCS administers the Stanford  Achievement Test Ninth Edition. The cost is $65.00 per student for non enrolled students.

CCS families who have students not enrolled in Circle may have the student participate in the testing program for a fee. Contact Mary Jane Jenkins for details.
Does CCS offer achievement testing as part of the school fee?
Yes, all newly enrolled students, grades 3 - 12, are required to participate in the standardized achievement testing program provided in the Spring of each year. Returning students, grades 3 - 12, are required to participate in the standardized achievement testing program at least every other year. Only returning students in grades 9 - 12 have the option to substitute the PLAN, PSAT, SAT Reasoning Test,, or ACT for the school's testing requirements. Testing is optional for students in grades K - 2.

CCS families who have students not enrolled in Circle may have the student participate in the testing program for a fee. Contact the office staff for details.
