What is the personal benefit I will enjoy by enrolling my family in Circle?
Your vision for your family is the central point. Your passion to see your children realize their maximum potential is essential. At Circle we will do our part to support you by providing a vast array of resources and tools, a community of like-minded families, extensive history and experience for homeschooling, and lots of enthusiastic encouragement.
Circle is a private organization which exists for the purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ by assisting Christian families in providing Godly education and academic excellence.
When does enrollment open for the 2007-2008 school year?
CCS enrollment opens February 19, 2007 and closes June 21, 2007.
Is enrollment open any other time during the school year?
No, enrollment is only open during the specific March through June time period.
Are there any workshops that are offered that will help me prepare for the upcoming school year?
Linda Werner, will conduct several Fundamental Ingredients to Successful Homeschooling workshops beginning in the spring and continuing throughout the summer. In the three hour workshop, participants will learn about:
- A Philosophy of Education - What is it and Why is it Important?
- Key Character Indicators - Discipline, Time Management, and Organization.
- Academics - What to Teach and For How Long?
This workshop is specifically for parents with children in grades K-8. The cost of the workshop is free but registration is required. To register simply call the CCS office at 407 740-8877 or e-mail Elisabeth Werner at ElisabethW@circlechristianschool.org. This workshop is offered at several locations. Check the coming events area for dates, times and locations.
Are there any meetings that I could attend to learn more about CCS?
Yes, Jim and Linda Werner, founders of CCS will host several information meetings beginning in the spring. At these meetings families will learn more about the homeschooling laws in Florida as well as the services that CCS provides.
Is there someone that could help me choose curriculum?
Yes, CCS has a full service bookstore that offers curriculum and resources for your educational needs. The bookstore is open to the public and all are welcome during regular office hours, 11:00am-4:00pm Monday through Thursday.
Do I have to use a specific curriculum or can I develop my own plan?
CCS does not have specific curriculum requirements but does have recommendations and samples of materials in the bookstore. At the beginning of the year you will have to identify the sources of the curriculum you are using for the student file. Changes can be made and noted at the time of change.
