Class Descriptions

Drama for K-5

Munchkin Players -  Imagination Emancipation (Grades K-2)

Mrs. Anna Fisher
Every child is born with an abundance of creativity and imagination. This class is designed to channel those energies in healthy ways through the creative outlet of theatre!  Participants will learn to develop their inborn, God-given "tools" of acting:  the face, the body, the voice, and the imagination!  A class sharing at the end of the first semester with a presentation of skills learned at the end of the year in our spring production with First Stage Players will allow parents and friends to see the "actor" in each child!

First Stage Players  -  Acting Studio (Grades 3-5)

Mrs. Anna Fisher

Welcome to acting!  Here you will uncover a whole new way of looking at yourself and your environment!  You'll continue to learn all of the basics, like enhancing concentration, sensory awareness, and improvisational skills.  At the same time, you will focus on new ways to use your voice and body as you learn techniques for stage movement and diction.  Come and find the amazing potential that only you hold!  Parents will enjoy a class sharing at the end of the first semester with a year-end production at the end of the second semester.

Theatre Elective for Grades 6-12

Stage Movement/ Improv(Grades 6 - 12)

Mr. Nathanael Fisher
Mrs. Cathy Cox

Join us first semester as we explore different types of movement used on the stage.  Incorporating exercises in character physicality, we will experiment with the biggest tool God gave us for the stage - our body.  We will also play with movement by learning some stage combat, dancing for the stage (musical theatre, ballroom, soft shoe, maybe tap as well), and improvisational movement.  This class is NOT a "dance" class; prior dance experience is NOT required, though dancers are welcome.  Come discover the freedom of movement!

Second semester is devoted to IMPROVISATION!  Who's Line Is It Anyway?  Bring your favorite theatre game and learn a few more.  Master the art of improvisation as we delve head first into a class you CANNOT prepare for in advance!  Think on your feet, exercise your mind, get critical thinking out of the way, and express yourself!
