• VISUAL ARTS
God's Hand in Art (Grades K-3)

Kindergarten through third grade students will explore God's creation through nature. Every week a new plant, animal, or person will be introduced and how God created it/them uniquely studied. Students will experience various media including charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, crayon resist, fabric art, batik, paper collage, printmaking, mosaic, and various sculpture medium. Their creativity and character will be inspired as they see more of the nature and character of our Master Creator revealed through His marvelous creation
*God's Hand in Art is held in conjunction with Munchkin Players. Forty minutes will be spent in each discipline.
God's Hand in Drawing 101 (Grades 4-6)

Students will be developing and fine-tuning drawing skills and will expand their creativity as they learn more about composition and design basics. Students will appreciate art through the ages and through God's creation. They will experience hands-on learning about the elements of art and principles of design, and develop a Biblical worldview through the study of art . "A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things." (Matthew 12:35). Students will explore charcoal and graphite, pastels, colored pencils, and will also "draw" with various other media including watercolor, acrylics, markers, etc.

Students will be further developing and fine-tuning drawing skills and will expand their creativity as they take composition and design basics to the next level. Students will further appreciate art through the ages and through God's creation as His nature and character are revealed in art. They will experience more hands-on learning about the elements of art and principles of design, and further develop their Biblical worldview through art . God's Hand in Drawing 201 (Grades 9-12)

This class, offered under Circle's growing arts program, is designed for students who are called to use their musical gifts to help lead others in worship. Students will have numerous outreach performance opportunities as well provide the music and worship for Circle's chapel services. Specific objectives for this class will be determined by the student's skill levels and strengths. Instruction will focus on technical skills, ensemble techniques, music literacy, sight reading and ear training, instrument care and maintenance, responsible participation in music activities, and connections between music and Christian worship. Students must possess their own instruments and meet a novice level of skill and accomplishment.
• DIGITAL ARTS AND MEDIA
Introduction to Filmmaking (Grades 7-12)Dave Theriault
In this class students gain hands-on experience by writing, directing, and editing their own film project. The course is designed to give each student an overview of the many aspects of the motion picture industry, including writing, producing, directing, lighting, shooting, sound, and editing. This is achieved partially through lecture time, partially through critiquing the work of other filmmakers, and partially through hands-on production. High school students will receive 1.0 credit in Film 1 upon successful completion of the course and objectives.
• DRAMA
Munchkin Players (Grades K-3)

A must for every child, this Creative Drama class incorporates pantomime, sounds and simple plays in a fun, exciting environment. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations to the fullest as well as to create as a team. Each semester will end with a "mini" performance; 20-30 minutes in length, for friends and family of the students during a showcase held the last day of classes each semester and performed at Metro Winter Springs.

First Stage Players (Grades 4-6)

While learning basic acting skills and learning about the theatre process first semester, students will work together to rehearse and perform a short, 45 minutes in length, musical play at the end of the second semester with minimal costume pieces (provided by parents) and minimal sets. Spring show will be held April 15-16, 2011 at Metro. Additional rehearsals during second semester, outside of class time, are required. This class is designed as an introduction and/or continuation of training to prepare students to enter into Circle Theatre Company.
Broadway Bound (Grades 4-6)

A perfect companion class for those students enrolled in First Stage Players, this class is a great way to start your theatre arts training. Broadway Bound is a blend of vocal and movement instruction as students act, sing and dance selections from some of Broadway's most memorable musicals. Along with vocal and movement instruction, the class is designed to enhance students' sense of discovery, teamwork and innovation in the world of musical theatre. Suitable for first time or returning students. Each semester will end with a showcase for friends and family of the students held the last day of classes each semester and performed at Metro Winter Springs.
Actors Lab: Act 2 (Grades 7-8)

This class is designed to build skills for the beginner and experienced actor, expand the imagination, build confidence, develop a sensitivity to the processes of creating and working with others, and strengthen the voice and body. A combination of theatre exercises and basic script work will be used.
Drama I/II: Act 2 (Grades 9-12)

First year high school students are introduced to Circle's sequential theatre arts program. Returning students build upon the acting, movement and voice skills they have studied in Drama I and are introduced to stage combat, stagecraft, playwrights, and musical theatre. They will learn techniques and practical application to scene study, learn about the development of drama, and be introduced to the Stanislavski method of Acting. If you are a serious actor, this class should not be missed. Students will receive a 1 credit in Drama I or II upon successful completion of the course and objectives.
Drama III/IV: Act 2* (Grades 11-12)

High school students build upon the acting, movement and voice skills they have studied in Drama I/II and III/IV Act I. They will study theatre relevance, purpose, affect on society, and responsibility. Students will delve deeper into play analysis, directing, work on Shakespearean scenes and monologues, as well as study dance through the decades from turn of the century through modern day. Finally, students will work on practical tools and create portfolios in preparation for college applications/interviews/and auditions. Students will receive a 1 credit in Drama III or IV upon successful completion of the course and objectives.

Circle Studio Players (Grades 7-12)

Be a part of the action! This production class helps all new incoming students gain solid acting techniques through development and participation of a fall show (tentative dates Nov 5-7 & Nov 12-14) and join Company second semester for a spring Musical (tentative dates May 12-15, 2011). Extra rehearsals, outside of class time, are required. Students will receive a 1.0 credit in Comprehensive Theatre I upon successful completion of the course and objectives.

Circle Theatre Company (Grades 8-12)

This production class helps returning Company members, gain solid acting techniques through development and participation of a fall (tentative dates November 5-7 and November 12-14) and our spring musical (tentative dates May 12-15, 2011) joined by Circle Studio Players, and provides an opportunity to showcase their talents in the community. Students will receive a 1.0 credit in Comprehensive Theatre I upon successful completion of the course and objectives.
