HOUSE Apopka Instructors

Stephanie Ascough

Stephanie has always had a heart to teach.  This is Stephanie’s first year teaching at HOUSE Apopka and she is very excited about this opportunity.  Stephanie taught Children’s Ministry and was involved in the administration of several children’s activities at Metro Life Church where she was a member until the church plant to Winter Garden. She and her husband are currently active members there.  They taught Children’s ministry together at Grace Church for a year.  Stephanie has also taught a fourth grade grammar class and tutored a variety of grades from fourth through tenth, and subjects including math, literature, and writing. She grew up in a homeschooling family and looks forward to homeschooling her own children some day.  In the meantime, Stephanie is very thankful to be teaching in this homeschooling community.

Tricia Bores

Tricia is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Marketing.  She also has a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dayton.  Tricia taught Animal Science for HOUSE Apopka last year.  Prior to teaching at Circle, Tricia was the Director of Children's Ministry for four years at a local church.  Tricia and her husband, D.J., have been married for sixteen years and have three children.  They have been a homeschooling family for eight years.  This will be Tricia's second year teaching for HOUSE Apopka.

Tanya Carpenter

Tanya is a native Floridian born and raised in Apopka.  Currently, she resides in Mt. Dora with her husband, Dan, and two children, McKenzie and Danny.  Tanya graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management and a promise to her parents that she would never become a teacher.  After working several years in the business arena as an Area Trainer, Tanya surrendered to God's plan for her life and returned to her Alma Mater, Apopka High School, to teach full time in the business department.  Tanya's teaching style and philosophy are based on the belief that all teachers must foster and develop personal relationships among students.  The motto that has always guided Tanya is "no one cares what you know, unless they know you care."   Tanya along with her husband has taught Sunday school for six years at First Presbyterian Church in Orlando.  They also coach a Little League team together.  The Carpenters are thankful to be a part of the Circle family and forever grateful for helping Tanya realize her dream job – being a homeschool mother.

Carol Dalton

Carol and her husband, Joe, have three children, Chandler, Madison, and  Cole.  Carol graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary  Education.  She had ten years of classroom teaching experience before beginning her homeschooling experience.  She has been blessed by the privilege of teaching at HOUSE Apopka these past four years.  She has enjoyed working with all age groups, getting to know the families, and teaching with the awesome team members.  Carol looks forward to her fifth year at HOUSE Apopka.

Franchesca Haig

Franchesca graduated in 1999 from Florida Metropolitan University with a degree in Medical Assisting.  She put her medical career on hold when God in His infinite wisdom called her to stay home with her children while they were young.   The plan was to reenter the work force when her youngest child entered kindergarten.  God once again intervened and the call came to homeschool the children.  They began their homeschooling journey in 2004.  Since that time, teaching has become a passion.  She looks for every opportunity to instruct those around her.  This is the Haig family's third year with Circle.  In addition to teaching at Circle, Franchesca is also the Director of Children's Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Apopka.
