They will learn that before Disney's Buzz Lightyear, there was another Buzz that helped us get to infinity and beyond. Rocket launching will have them spinning and seeing how far they can fly. Students will weave through asteroids as they construct comets complete with a tissue paper tail. The ceiling in the classroom will be used as the night sky full of constellations as students generate them dot by dot. Students will eat their way through the solar system using a variety of candy, and planet postcards will be sent to their friends asking them to visit the students in their new environments. Before the class heads back home, students might even try a little astronaut ice cream. Along the way they will be documenting their travel experiences in their Space Logs. The many missions will keep students busy writing, creating, experimenting, and tasting so many extraterrestrial things. 3, 2, 1, BLASTOFF!

Mrs. Francesca Haig LEGO students don't just know it, they DO it. Being LEGO Smart is more than building with LEGO bricks. It is having the ability to work in teams, solve problems, and create solutions. It means understanding key science, technology, engineering, and math concepts - not just on paper, but through demonstration. Using the Lego Education projects, the kindergarten through third grade classes will be building simple machines, problem solving, and creating motorized creations. Students in fourth through seventh grades will be exploring basic simple machine concepts, robotics, and discovering the use of renewable energy. Building with LEGO bricks has never been so cool!
Schoolyard Games (Grades K - 7)
Mr. Tim WernerDo you remember when you were in school how excited you were to go to PE? It was there that everyone learned to play games with other children. By the end of the program, each child will have established a daily exercise routine that can be implemented at home. This is a class that students will be excited to attend. Students will learn many of the favorite games such as Four Square, Statues, Kick the Can, Nine Holes, Graces, Marbles, Boss-Out, Hot Buttered Beans, Three-legged Race, Dodge ball, Egg in the Spoon, Push the Potato, Spin the Trencher, Tug-of-War, and many others!

Writing the Rough Draft (Grades K - 7)
Mrs. Stephanie Ascough
Does the word 'writing' conjure up ideas of boring grammar, wadded papers, and discouraged faces? Allow me to introduce your children to a safe playground to work through their writing obstacles and fears while having a wonderful time. This class will help students view writing as a fun and engaging activity. Students will learn to see the world through descriptive lenses and experience the thrill of capturing objects, images, moods, and thoughts in words. Join me as we tame words and learn techniques for bringing words to life.
