Student Opportunities

Circle also offers a vast array of supplemental opportunities for families who want educational experiences outside the home. These supplemental options are available to all students who are enrolled in Circle. The opportunities are provided in an a'la carte format and are available in three areas: Academics, Arts, and Athletics.

Each opportunity is distinct and unique. Each is designed to provide a favorable learning environment within the scope of the subject matter. Listed below is a short description of each opportunity.  Please note: All of the opportunities presented here are subject to change without notice.

HoPS - Homeschooling Pre-Schoolers

The goal of HoPS (Homeschooling Pre-Schoolers) is to connect parents and children in a unique way in order to

  • enhance a parent's understanding of the pre-school years,
  • establish relationships with like-minded families, and
  • encourage parents to consider homeschooling as an educational option.

Families desiring to become affiliated with Circle and participate in the HoPS program may take advantage of the services for an annual fee of $50.00 per family. HoPS families enjoy field trips, park days, bookstore discounts, and more.

Foundations (Grades K-8)

Foundations provides students in grades K - 8 with an expanded look at history. It shows students how the arts, church history, and science reflect the progression of time and the development of human culture. This program offers:

  • The study of a specific historical period integrated in six subject areas
  • Semester presentations performed by the entire student body
  • Class overviews distributed at the beginning of each semester
  • Meets once a week from 9:00am-3:00pm
  • Six-month schedule

HOUSE (Grades K-7)

HOUSE (Hands-on Unit Study Experience) gives students an active, exciting, hands-on experience in a variety of subjects. This is an excellent opportunity for any K - 7 student who enjoys interactive exploration in a group setting. This program offers:

  • Broad variety of subject offerings
  • Lab options
  • Guest speakers
  • Student-produced "Creation Folders" for each subject
  • Student recognition and awards
  • Communication to parents by the staff on a monthly basis
  • Meets once a week from 9:00am-1:15pm
  • Six-month schedule

Middle (Grades 7-8) and High (Grades 9-12) School Classes

These classes for students in grades 7 - 8 will be offered in the areas of language arts, science, history, and geography. Eighth grade students may register for the first year of a high school foreign language or a high school math course as appropriate.

The classes for students in grades 9 - 12 will be offered in the core subject areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, Biblical Worldview, and foreign languages.

The middle and high school classes provide:

  • Flexibility of class schedule
  • Monthly grades for school reports provided by the teacher
  • Student homework
  • Oral presentations
  • Classes meet once or twice a week
  • Eight-month schedule

Arts Program (Grades K-12)

The Arts classes are designed to unleash the creativity that God has placed in everyone. Through the arts, children have the opportunity to discover a creative side of themselves. Since God has designed everyone to have creative ability, parents need to be mindful of cultivating and nurturing this creativity in their children. The Arts Program at Circle was developed to help parents provide a well-rounded educational program where each child's innovative side might be enhanced. Recognizing that the arts represent a wide range of disciplines, Circle offers classes in several areas in an effort to satisfy student interests. The goal is to help student's find "that one thing" that will help them use their God-given gifts to make a difference for a lifetime. The arts program provides:

  • Individual offerings based on student's interest in culinary, music, theatre, and visual arts
  • Foundational opportunities to discover and explore the arts
  • Unique options
  • Class offerings for grades K - 12
  • Eight-month schedule
  • Major theatrical production by middle and high school students

Athletics Department

The purpose of athletics at Circle is to provide a context for students to use their God-given talent in the forum of competition and to cultivate physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth.
